Applications Engineer--Wear Material Products

Coordination of wear materials activities to bring expertise to Wear Materials Products for the customer. Essential duties:  become an expert in the application of all specialty wear products offered by Mellott Company through training and field exposure; gather field information on existing wear problems; ability to design and detail custom solutions for fabrication process based on field information; understand internal manufacturing process for wear products; become an expert for the installation of products; ability to estimate the cost of a solution, new or retro-fit; travel with a salesperson and/or independently to job sites, meet with the customer and discuss the benefits of a Mellott Company solution; monitor product performance through periodic travel back to Mellott installations. Secondary duties:  maintain a clean and safe work area; perform other duties as assigned.  Knowledge, skills and abilities:  proficiency with CAD software (2D and 3D); ability to enthusiastically build customer relationships through confidence in technical expertise; demonstrated ability and knowledge of geometry and trigonometry; display great attention to detail; knowledge of engineering and building codes; understanding of all aspects of aggregate plant; PE or EIT structural engineering preferred;  must be willing to travel by car to job sites and customer locations;  bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, structural or mining engineering; 5 years relevant experience. 

Product Support – Inside Sales:

Speaks to clients on the phone highlighting salable features, quote prices and credit terms.  Prepare Sale orders for customers.  Estimate delivery date to customer and maintain the relationship with the customer after the sale.  Enter new customer data, and other sales data for current customers into computer database.  Work with outside sales representatives to keep account activities up to date.  Inform Parts Sales Manager of any large dollar quote prior to any special pricing concessions or adjustments for competitive analysis.  Investigate and resolve customer problems with deliveries.  Building and maintaining customer relationships before, curing and after the sale is critical.  Proficient computer capabilities and the ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment are required.  A minimum of 1 year of customer service and sales experience is preferred. 

Quality Inspection Technician: 

Mellott Company is seeking an experienced quality technician with experience running a Faro arm or CMM to advance our quality inspection program.  This position will involve checking parts (in process and final inspection), creating inspection templates, and documenting and reporting the inspection process.  Required Education and Experience:  Five or more years of Manufacturing, Measuring, Quality Control experience; experience using precision measuring instruments; advanced CMM or Faro Arm program experience; mechanical/manufacturing engineering technician degree or technical schooling preferred. Specific job skills and knowledge requirements:  understanding of mechanical drawings; understanding of machined components and critical dimensions, surface finishes, tolerances, fits, etc.; ability to create inspection templates for use with Faro arm; strong computer skills; strong communication skills; willing to travel as needed; AutoCAD experience

 

Product Support—Service Administrator: 

Responsible for administration of activities in the Service Sales departments.  Maintain the relationship with the customer, including warranty claims and resolution.  Essential Duties include:  service market coverage & expansion, maintenance and development of long-term service department customer relationships, commitment to highest level of customer satisfaction, warranty administration, development of effective service support processes for internal and external customers, preparation of service quotes, manage quotes, quote follow ups and purchase orders, resolving discrepancies, service order management, after service follow-ups, achievement of short and long term business goals, assists in developing service promotions, develop and monitor service business KPI, frequent supplier interaction and performing KPI for each supplier, enforce compliance to company policies and procedures, recruit, train, retain, reward service support personnel, raise employee engagement, track stock levels, estimate date of delivery to customer, build and maintain customer relationships, investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries and service, other duties as assigned. 

 

Service Technician:

Provide quality work such as perform new equipment startup and training, assuring warranty coverage, adjust or repair as needed. Use product training and general knowledge ensuring trouble free operation of customer’s equipment. Rebuild failed or damaged equipment. Troubleshoot and problem solve. Write service reports capturing all important points. Travel across the United States (and outside the U.S. on occasion)

 

Electrician:

Perform a variety of electrical services to include circuit sizing, component specification, selection, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment at various locations.  Experience with low, medium and high voltage, including the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of motors, motor control circuits, generators, circuit breakers and fuses, as well as a working knowledge of automated systems is preferred.  Travel to aggregate production sites throughout several states is required.

 

Structural Engineer:

Must have at least 5-10 years of experience in design and analysis of steel and concrete structures with a minimum of 5 years in aggregate processing plants. Experience & aptitude managing projects is required. The position reports to the Chief Design Engineer. A BS Degree in Structural Engineering is required. A PE license preferred. 

 

Design Draftsman:  This position requires an understanding of engineering processes and the ability to perform all draftsman duties.  Proficiency with 2D & 3D CAD software and Microsoft Office applications will greatly assist in performing this job properly.  Essential Duties:  Ability to perform all draftsman duties;  Verify the work of Draftsmen for accuracy and quality;  Calculate basic engineering solutions;  Create design drawings for entire aggregate processing plants;  Thorough understanding of field activities, cost estimation, and project management;  Coordination of all activities to bring project from design to finished product which includes the coordination of engineering, shop, field, shipping, and erection activities  Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities:  Knowledge of industry terminology for parts, equipment, and processes;  Ability to use Microsoft Office applications;  Proficiency with CAD software;  Display attention to detail.  Education Requirements:  Two year technical certificate or Associate’s degree in related field;  at least 3 years of relevant experience.  

 

Welder/Fabricator:

Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms using knowledge of welding    techniques and metallurgy.  Ability to read engineer specifications and blueprints is essential in this step of the    manufacturing process.  Must work closely with other welders on certain projects.

 

Class A Truck Driver:

Candidates must be detail-oriented, efficient, professional, and have a clean driving record. They should thrive on the road, can consistently ensure safe and accurate deliveries and can travel weekly within a 500-mile radius. Occasional overnight delivery will be required. This position requires loading and unloading trailers, securing the contents of those trailers, driving them to a specified location and working flexible hours. Individuals must know DOT rules and regulations and complete the required paperwork in a timely fashion.

Fix and repair aggregate parts and equipment by determining required welding techniques for each project.  Weld different types of metal based on blueprints and specifications laid out by engineers.  May assist in other kinds of maintenance.
