Mellott Company Career Opportunities:

Accounts Receivable:

Ensures that customers are invoiced for shipments from Mellott Company and that payments are collected timely.  Prepares information for credit limit review, print and mail statements to customers, maintain customer files.  Process customer credit applications and maintain customer files, establish and regularly monitor customer credit limits, with guidance and approval of CFO, determine release of credit blocks, make collection calls to customers on a regular basis, prepare invoicing for customers, process manual credit card transactions, record daily cash receipts and maintain records, resolve account discrepancies, process customer credit requests, maintain customer sales tax exemption certificates, conduct monthly accounts receivable aging meeting, monitor authorizations and charges for credit card orders, and provide W-9 forms to customers.  Candidate needs to be familiar with Microsoft Office and have excellent customer relationship skills.  Associate degree in Accounting or related business degree required, or two years of relevant experience considered. 

Machine Operator:

Manufacture parts for the company.  Operation of heavy, sophisticated machinery is required to make the parts and move them on to the next step of the manufacturing process in a timely manner.  Communication with other departments is essential to meet production deadlines.  Duties include:  making parts with a high level of quality, bending, burning out, putting holes in, and cutting parts, quality checks on finished parts to ensure proper condition, scraping slag off parts, operation of overhead cranes, brake press, and shears, use of lifting clamps, lifting chains, and lifting straps, operation of CNC machinery such as burn tables, angle lines, drill lines, and radial drills.  Must maintain a chain of communication with co-workers, supervisors, and other departments to ensure timely preparation and availability of all production materials to avoid production shortages.  Work is in a loud environment.  Individual must be prepared to work in hot or cold temperatures.  Individual may be exposed to fumes or chemicals.  Personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, steel toe boots, and ear plugs, are required on the shop floor. 

Technology Trainer Position:

Mellott’s IS trainer is tasked with creating, organizing, and facilitating new employee and continual improvement training programs regarding the technology needs and uses for each of the departments within the Mellott organization.  This position will primarily be involved with creating training materials for department defined SOP’s within our ERP using our 3rd party training software and then facilitate those trainings to new and current employees.  Additional training or software and hardware used in our business operations outside of our ERP will need to be provided as well.  Qualified candidates will have +3 years of training or teaching experience, significant experience with ERPs, excellent communication and public speaking skills, excellent organizational skills, industrial, distribution, manufacturing or other B2B experience is preferred, experience in project management is preferred, bachelor’s degree in a similar field of study, ability to work in a fast paced environment, portray our company’s core values of safety, integrity, commitment, respect, and excellence.

Applications Engineer:

Work entails equipment selection, aggregate flow analysis, drafting and conceptual proposal development, equipment and plant quote preparation, assistance with equipment/plant startups, and participation in plant optimization studies.  This job requires knowledge and skills in several different fields such as crushing, screening, and conveying.  Essential duties include:  maintain expert level of product knowledge and application;  travel to customer site for bid proposal discussions;  perform field measuring duties, along with gathering survey data;  listen, understand, and convey customer requirements;  perform aggregate flow analyses and plant optimization studies, while making recommendations;  develop conceptual drawings; produce scopes of work for contractor bid purposes, including concrete/construction/electrical;  develop internal cost estimates and bid proposals for external customers;  basic timeline and schedule development;  form and maintain relationships with both vendors and customers. 

Service Technician:


Provide quality work such as perform new equipment startup and training, assuring warranty coverage, adjust or repair as needed. Use product training and general knowledge ensuring trouble free operation of customer’s equipment. Rebuild failed or damaged equipment. Troubleshoot and problem solve. Write service reports capturing all important points. Travel across the United States (and outside the U.S. on occasion)


Technical Electrician:


Perform a variety of electrical services to include circuit sizing, component specification, selection, installation and maintenance of electrical equipment at various locations.  Experience with low, medium and high voltage, including the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of motors, motor control circuits, generators, circuit breakers and fuses, as well as a working knowledge of automated systems is preferred.  Travel to aggregate production sites throughout several states is required.




Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms using knowledge of welding    techniques and metallurgy.  Ability to read engineer specifications and blueprints is essential in this step of the    manufacturing process.  Must work closely with other welders on certain projects.


Plant Support:


This position ensures proper greasing of equipment, oil changes on equipment, and assisting the Superintendent on daily maintenance of plant.  Individual must have the ability to operate a skid loader.  Essential duties include:  properly greasing equipment, monitor oil levels and perform oil changes on equipment, shovel catwalk and clean up around plant, assist superintendent in starting of all equipment, assist superintendent in shutting down of all equipment, safely operate skid loader, perform screen cloth inspections, gain cutting torch experience, maintain an overall safe and clean work area, drive company vehicles to, from and on crushing sites.

Process Engineer:

Develop and improve service processes and quality control operational methods.  Provide support in other areas as needs arise and match expertise.  Become well versed in basic principles of automation, electrical, and hydraulic systems.  Including the use of FARO Arm in the part quality control function.  Assure product and process quality by designing inspection points, verifying process capabilities, establishing standards, and confirming established processes.  Evaluate processes via research, apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials conferring with equipment suppliers, and soliciting input and ideas from employees.  Document approved standard processes to promote and train in quality and consistency.  Improve efficiencies by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, work structure and layouts.  Provide decision making information by estimating production, labor, and material costs.  Design and develop improvement projects by documenting, training, and guiding technicians.



Fix and repair aggregate parts and equipment by determining required welding techniques for each project.  Weld different types of metal based on blueprints and specifications laid out by engineers.  May assist in other kinds of maintenance.



Controlling and operating of machines and equipment to manufacture parts for the company.  Includes milling and boring steel for parts.  Operate machinery in a safe and efficient manner while meeting production deadlines.


Class A Truck Driver:


Candidates must be detail-oriented, efficient, professional, and have a clean driving record. They should thrive on the road, can consistently ensure safe and accurate deliveries, and can travel weekly within a 500-mile radius. Occasional overnight delivery will be required. This position requires loading and unloading trailers, securing the contents of those trailers, driving them to a specified location and working flexible hours. Individuals must know DOT rules and regulations and complete the required paperwork in a timely fashion.
