Mellott Designed Mobile Unit Upgrade
Mellott is no stranger to modernization and the newly developed HMI (Human Machine Interface) touchscreen and Allen Bradley PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), show that Mellott is always innovating. Together with one of our partners, we developed the new state of the art HMI. The system includes a redundant pushbutton control to operate independently of the screen if needed. Tony Valente, Director of Technical Training • Operations - Mellott University said, “This upgrade will be available on all future Mellott Mobile Crushing over the road units.” Tony was recently chosen as Chairman, of the Advisory Program for Hagerstown Community College Advanced Manufacturing. Needless to say, we’re glad he works for us.
Chris Mellott, Engineer at Mellot said, “We introduced our new control panel for our MC (Mobile Crushing) equipment line. This panel is now utilizing a PLC system to control plant functions and offers us fully automated startup of our primary and closed-circuit portable plants, as well as troubleshooting advantages for our crushing crews and service technicians. We are excited about this addition to our MC equipment line; it will simplify plant start up and troubleshooting for our customers moving forward.”
Safety is Mellott’s number one value, however, in order to be safe, you have to be trained. Training was required to familiarize Operators and Technicians with the operation of the new HMI main and sub screens. The training was conducted by our partner’s Programming Engineer and recorded for future trainings. This upgrade will deliver immense opportunities for customers using the over-the-raod mobile units that Mellott manufactures onsite. The Mellott core values of Safety, Integrity, Commitment, Respect and Excellence are always the driving force behind the Mellott copany culter and everything we do at Mellott.
