VIDEO: Tribute to Education
Valuable Values: Mellott Company awards scholarships to the students who best demonstrate the Mellott Company values of safety, integrity, commitment, respect, and excellence.
We believe education is a big factor in success and fulfillment through life. To give young persons a better edge in life, we have partnered with local high school, Southern Fulton Junior-Senor High School (SFHS) and together we have created a program that has benefitted both Mellott Company and our community. To celebrate the success of the program, we made a short video presentation, which was first screened at the "Tribute to Education" event held at Hagerstown Community College (HCC) on April 8, 2016. The event served as a fund raiser for the HCC Foundation for disadvantaged students. The educational partnership program was started at the initiative of Paul Mellott in the early 1990s after a conversation with mentor Donald Thomey who had adopted a high school class in Cecil County, Maryland.
We are proud of our students' accomplishments and aspirations. We wish them a long and fulfilling life.
