Balancing an aggregate processing plant’s production to meet sales demand can frequently be a tall task if not an impossible one. There are so many times when our aggregate customers will be sitting on a glut of one product that isn’t moving and can’t make enough of another. Mellott has the crushing equipment and the seasoned operators to come in and deliver this solution to our aggregate customers. Our mobile crushing plants with their compact designs, can be deployed quickly, set up without disrupting a mine site’s traffic flow, and utilized to re-crush a low demand product such as an overproduction of 57’s that aren’t selling, into high demand products like 8’s and/or dust. Mellott has provided these types of supplemental crushing services at jobs for as short as 6 months and as long as 5 years.

Don’t break the bank and permanently change your crushing and screening plant layout just to meet short-term sales demands. Partner with Mellott’s Contract Crushing division and see what our flexibility can do for your operation!

crushing overburden

Overburden can become a real menace on a mining property. The real estate it takes up can cover large portions of a site’s property and even worse, make valuable reserves inaccessible. To compound these issues, there are the variable costs it takes to remove, haul, dump, and dispose of this material. Luckily, in some cases, there is enough rock in the overburden that customers can find sales for this product. However, processing this material can become a challenge as well, since there is a timely cost in converting a plant over to process the overburden without spoiling the existing inventory stockpiles. This is where Mellott can help.

Mellott’s portable track or wheeled plants can be set up close to the overburden/spoil pile far from the existing plant.  The plants small footprint and large capacity can turn your spoil pile into a product pile without causing any disruption to your current operations. This will not only help get the material off your property and uncover your reserves but also add an auxiliary source of revenue to your plant’s bottom line.

Don’t slow your plant down trying to crush unwanted material. Call Mellott and turn your spoil pile to a pile of cash!

benefits:

Create a salable product

Minimize overburden storage

Create access to clean reserves

Eliminate contamination of primary products

Plant on reserves

plant on reserves

As a quarry matures and begins to deplete its reserves, sometimes the remainder of those reserves are located directly underneath the processing plant. The reality is that when getting close to the end of a quarry’s life you are inevitably going to “paint yourself into a corner.” This causes a challenge for the quarry owner and operator as they will have to relocate the existing plant to gain access to the reserves and either re-utilize the old plant or buy a new one. Either choice you make, doing it yourself will be costly and can become a challenge to justify the capital spend for those remaining reserves. Once again, Mellott can help you bridge the gap.

When you bring in Mellott Contract Crushing services to help, we can set up a small footprint plant that can replace the full or a portion of the tonnage of your plant to continue operations even while you’re dismantling your existing plant. This will keep you in inventory and sales while you make the transition! And with all Mellott’s contract crushing services, the upfront cost is low and you will be protected from wild swings in your variable costs.

So, if you have an aggregate processing plant sitting on your remaining reserves, remember to call Mellott!

BOT Plants

Regardless of what your specific needs for Contract Crushing are, in many cases we can propose a Build, Operate, and Transfer option. In many cases, we will build a plant to solve one of these issues, operate it for a few years, and then transfer the plant over to the customer in which we were contracting. The customer can get all the benefits provided by Mellott’s contract crushing services and then take over the operations themselves at a reduced price in comparison to buying it outright from the beginning. They will also have our Mellott employees able to train the new crew on the plant’s operations and maintenance requirements.

benefits:

Mellott will build the plant to meet your needs

Allows you to establish the market and development of the quarry

We will operate the plant with factory and industry trained personnel

Mellott will work with and train your personnel on site how to safely operate the plant

We will then transfer the plant to you at the end of the original contract.
